is excited to present
Retouching for Photographers
Let’s face it – if you are a photographer, the last thing you want to do is spend all day in front of the computer when you could be shooting. Ideally we would love to have a skilled, dedicated retoucher on our team to take care of all the post production work, but for most of us, this would be a luxury. When I started my career, I quickly realized how much a polished, finished image could set your work apart. Without the resources to hire a professional retoucher, I sought out to develop a post production workflow for myself that would not only compete with the quality of great retouching, but would also allow me to spend more time doing what I love most – photography. This all day event will encompass the process I go through when retouching my own work as a beauty and fashion photographer. I will be sharing easy to follow techniques on how to get the job done simply and efficiently. We will go over how to save time in post production at the capture stage, produce beautiful files in Capture One, and how to make Photoshop and Imagenomic’s Portraiture work for you.
Here are just some of the topics we will be covering:
- Useful lighting tips to save you time in post
- The two numbers that may forever change the way you shoot and retouch
- Why Capture One may be for you as a photographer
- Retouch smarter, not longer
- Developing your retouch strategy
- Retouching beauty and fashion one step at a time
- Streamlining the retouching process with Imagenomic’s Portraiture
- The simplest way to retain color fidelity and integrity throughout the entire process despite multiple outputs

For those of you traveling from out of town, the studio is conveniently located within 5 minutes of John Wayne Airport in Orange County (SNA), and there are several accommodations nearby. We are also 5 minutes away from Samy’s Camera, Calumet Photographic, and South Coast Plaza in case you would like to do some shopping during the weekend
I suggest you bring a laptop if you have Photoshop installed, as well as a Wacom tablet if you have one. Other than that, you will just need to bring an open mind and some laughter for my horrible jokes.
